Fultondale High School
"After a summer of off-season workouts and tournaments, the wrestling team met for the first time in late October. With the addition of Jason Heath as junior high coach and Randy Haught as an assistant varsity coach, the goals set by the team took on a much more intense meaning.
The varsity had several team members that worked very hard all summer in the weight room and on the mats as they challenged themselves to be team leaders. In addition, three 8th grade wrestlers accepted the challenge to move up and wrestle for the varsity. The hard work in the off-season paid off for the Wildcats as they proved to be very competitive throughout the season. They won the ACA Duals Tournament, the Section tourney, runner-up in the state tourney, and for the first time two varsity wrestlers earned over 50 individual wins in a season."
